No, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth

I know I haven't posted in a while but we really haven't had a lot going on. With summer here it seems as if things have slowed down for us a good bit. Yesterday when I came home from work I found Lori Anne dressed like this. It's not what I had laid out for her. Well, I did lay out the skirt but the sweater, tshirt and gloves..... no way. The first thing she asked was where her pants were and the second thing she asked was "Don't I look good". Hmmmmmm................
While his little sister was inside dressing for a snow storm, Lane was outside cooling off from the 100+ degree weather on the slip and slide. He wanted me to get on with him but the last time I tried the ground was a lot harder than it used to be when I was a kid =o)

USM Football Camp

Lane participated in Football camp this weekend at USM. I dropped him off on Friday and picked him up Sunday.
I packed his suitcase. Ironed his clothes and folded them just so.
I instructed him to take a shower every night and not to forget to brush his teeth.
Can you imagine my surprise when I discovered...........
That he decided to wear the SAME shirt 3 days in a row.
His reasoning? He really liked that shirt.
He came home with a jammed finger that was swollen twice its normal size and had to be put in a splint. He was sunburned. His legs hurt so bad he could hardly get out of the car. And have I mentioned that he wore the same shirt 3 days in a row. But despite all this he claims he had a GREAT time and wants to go back again......go figure. =o)

To Grandma's House We Go

Lori Anne and I went to visit my Grandmother this weekend. She only lives about 30 minutes away but I hardly ever get over to see her. Shame on me! Uncle Bill was there too. He has the amazing ability to get my children riled up more than anyone else I know. It probably takes him about 5 seconds to get them bouncing off the walls.
Lori Anne snapped this photo of me and Grandma. She did a pretty good job and it was hard to get the camera away from her. I had pictures of everything on my camera =o)

End of the year ball party

Lane had his end of the year baseball party last night at Elks Lake Lodge. The kids enjoyed swimming the the pool.
I realized that I didn't get a picture of Lane's trophy (it was very nice and unusual, btw) but I did get a picture of their cake. One of the kids grandmothers made this. I thought it turned out great! Wish I had a talent like that =o)

Move Over Martha Stewart

I've been wanting to have the seats on my dining room chairs recovered for a while now (you really don't want to see a before picture). I looked and looked for fabric and finally found some I liked. There was only one problem.... it was over $20 a yard, yikes! A few weeks ago I was in TJ Maxx and came across a table cloth that I thought would work. If you'll notice below my sample fabric is laying on top of the table cloth material and they really are pretty similar. I decided to improvise the $16.99 table cloth for the fabric and I'm very happy with the out come.
Ok, Ok.... so Martha probably would have designed the fabric herself and had it made from the finest hand dyed material in some quaint village in a country overseas. But mine is water resistant and stain resistant so you really can't beat that, especially with my two messy children.

I have this container that someone gave me a while back. It's glass and it kinda looks like there's air bubbles in the glass. What can I do with it? Do I put a large candle in there with something at the base of it, flowers, what? Please help =o)

Swing set fun

I'm pretty sure this isn't the proper way to play on a swing set. Little sister decided to show us the cool tricks that she could do. Big brother, as big brothers generally do, said that was nothing! He could do that. No big deal!
Big brother tried and tried. First it was the shoes, then it was something else, and something else after that. Finally he admitted defeat. I guess there are some things a little sister can do that a big brother can't do after all! =o)
